Welcome to Residential & Commercial Property Management Advice

For the last 15 years I have had the opportunity to manage nearly every type of income producing property.  My experience includes management of the following:

  • More than 3,500 apartments, condominiums and multiplexes and single family homes.  This included several different kinds of low income, moderate income and other government subsidized projects.
  • More than 8 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space.
  • Multiple hotel properties including everything from a 48 unit roadside motel to a full service hotel with several hundred rooms a restaurant and more than 60,000 square feet of meeting/convention space.
  • Raw land developments.
My goal with this blog is to share my experiences and give advice aimed at becoming a successful property manager.  Managing property for a fee seems like a simple enough task - take the rent, pay the bills, hire someone to fix the problems - but gaining clients, retaining clients and maintaining your fiduciary duties can be one of the most challenging tasks you ever take on.
